KNC is a voluntary organisation that provides services to the aged and disabled especially in the Sydney North region with centers based at St Ives, Berowra, Galston and Pennant Hills.

Who we are

Ku-ring-gai Neighbourhood Centre Inc. (KNC) is a not for profit community organisation located at St Ives Shopping Village, just outside Woolworth’s entrance. KNC has been providing information and services for community members since 1979. KNC encourages and enables the aged to identify opportunities and achieve their personal goals. Leadership in the planning, development and evaluation of services is provided for the aged and disabled.

Services provided:

  • CHSP Neighbour Aid

    Social support to the older residents of Northern Sydney

  • KNC Home Care Services

Providing Case Management, Care coordination, Domestic, personal care and transport to assist older residents to remain independent at home.

  • Information

    On all local activities/services and Federal Aged Care services.

  • Office support facilities for the aged

    Fax, email, photocopy and laminating to A3 size

  • Public access computers for the aged and disabled

    Email, internet, office, scan

  • Broadband for Seniors (for over 50’s)

    Computer, internet and email access – basic computer lessons

  • JP services

    12pm-1pm; Mon – Fri

  • English Conversation Classes

    Lessons and English speaking practice for those whose first language is not English

  • Seniors groups and activities for social inclusion

    Mah-jong, Yarning, Theatre groups, Art therapy, Yoga, Tai Chi for Falls, Carpet Bowls and Croquet

  • Tax Help for Seniors

    July to October.
